National Beta was founded in 1934 by Dr. John W. Harris in South Carolina. He founded the organization on the pillars of achievement, character, leadership, and service. In honor of our National Founder, we invite clubs to celebrate our motto, “Let Us Lead by Serving Others” on Founder’s Day. We encourage all National Betas to make service a priority, not just today but every day.

Order a 2023 Founder’s Day T-Shirt
Our 2023 National Beta Founder’s Day t-shirt is a perfect way for your club to show your Beta pride, improve club comradery, and mark this special day of service. The Founder’s Day shirt features this year’s theme, “Make Today Count” in a classic design.
- T-Shirts are available for purchase through the Beta Shop until September 28.
- Cost is $15 each; all orders of 10 or more will likely qualify for free shipping.

Founder’s Day Contest
On October 27, 2023, share photos and videos of your club serving your community on social media. Be sure to wear your Founder’s Day shirt if you pre-ordered them!
- Enter by using #FoundersDay23 when posting on social media.
- Winners will be announced November 2.
- We will feature your club on social media and share your impact with your fellow Betas.
- We will select our three favorite projects to win a Beta Shop gift card!
